7. EA13 Usage Precautions
Chassis Heating and Heat Dissipation
-
It is normal for internal component heat to transfer to the enclosure surface during operation. The unit’s temperature rise meets safety and national‑standard requirements. The enclosure surface can reach high temperatures; do not touch hot areas to avoid burns.
-
Do not block ventilation openings. Place the unit in a well‑ventilated location. Excessive internal heat may cause malfunctions or even fire hazards.
Load Requirements
-
Always operate the amplifier with a valid load connected. Do not hot‑plug, hot‑swap or disconnect loads while an input signal is present.
-
Never short‑circuit the output terminals; this may damage the unit and cause unnecessary losses.
-
The output transformer cannot operate unloaded for long periods. Always connect speakers, headphones or other loads. Prolonged no‑load operation may lead to transformer breakdown and burnout.
Vacuum‑Tube Notes
-
Standby mode cuts off both high‑voltage and filament power for vacuum tubes. This prevents “cathode‑poisoning” caused by filament‑only power and extends tube service life.
-
After hot‑state shutdown, wait 1‑2 minutes before restarting to avoid power‑on pop noise.
-
If a tube fails and produces abnormal noise, record a video for feedback. Tube replacement service is available upon request.
Power‑Supply Notes
-
Dual‑mains‑voltage range: 115‑230 V, pre‑set at factory for different regions. Do not modify manually; risk of unit burnout.
Volume Operation Notes
-
Turn down the volume before every use, then gradually increase volume to your preferred listening level to protect headphones from damage.
Note
-
Slight non‑toxic odor may occur on first‑time use as transformer insulation materials heat up. Operate the unit in a ventilated area for some time; the odor will gradually dissipate.
