Feiao M9 evaluation
1. Products:
M9 is a new generation of mid-range portable player product of Feiao. It uses a 3.2-inch high-definition touch screen and is small in size. The keys are all concentrated on the side of the left arc, which is very convenient to control with one hand.
M9 is a portable player with complete functions. In addition to the common functions of line output, USB decoding and balanced output, M9 supports a full range of high-definition Bluetooth standards: HWA, LDAC, APTX, etc., especially HWA transmission function, which is the first portable player to achieve.
M9 is dual AK4490EN, the CPU is Samsung Exynos 7270, the Android system is customized, the installation of online music software (white list restriction) is supported, NetEase Cloud Music has been built in, and the control is smooth. The single-ended output lasts about 10 hours.

M7 has not been on the market for a long time. It is a fun entry-level player with radio function, highly simplified Android touch control, light and small size, and sound characteristics: excellent resolution at the same price.
Compared with M9 and M7, the difference is obvious, which belongs to the quality difference between a typical entry-level player and a mid-range player.
to be specific, the most obvious difference between the two is the intermediate frequency human voice. Although M7 has a certain medium and high frequency resolution, the human voice does not sound so moist. Compared with M9, it is a bit dry and lacks emotion and reality. Apple's mobile phone is actually a similar problem, but it is more serious than M7. I used to use "taste the same" to describe the intermediate frequency of Apple's mobile phone.
low frequency part, M7 low frequency dive is not enough, tight, poor sense of space. M9 has better low-frequency dive and moderate control. The low-frequency atmosphere and space sense are obviously much better than M7.

I often suggest that some novices should try their best to start from the mid-range player at the 2000 price when the funds permit. M9 and N5II are not as different from the previous M9 and M7. There are still obvious differences between the two brands in sound style or tuning thinking.
N5II has long concluded in previous reviews: the sound is a neutral and slightly warm style. With the reference of N5II, we can first clarify the sound style of Feiao M9: M9 can be said to be neutral but softer.
Specifically: the resolution of medium and high frequency, N5II is better than M9.
, M9 is obviously softer. It is very hard to listen to with the Xielantu, and it is still a little out of place with the high-frequency details of the black oriole. M9 and N5II high-frequency overtones are good, and there will be no problem of entry player drying in listening.
intermediate frequency vocals, N5II is slightly warmer and forward. M9 is still a soft tuning, basically neutral, no obvious warm or cold,this tuning style is actually a bit similar to the Japanese and Korean high-end players that have polished the details to a certain extent.For mid-range and entry-level players, this kind of sound processing method is completely no problem, and some moving iron earplugs that stimulate the sound will have a better matching effect. However, if the high-priced player is also made into this style and lacks richer details, it is not worth the price.
the low frequency part, N5II dynamic is a little bigger than M9, big dynamic music sounds more fierce, M9 low frequency is relatively loose, but it is not as soft and dynamic as Japanese and Korean players.

3. HWA Transmitter Test
M9 is the first portable player that supports the function of HWA transmitter. We have already said a lot about the advantages of HWA HD wireless transmission standard. At present, the main problem in HWA ecology is that there are many restrictions on the transmitting end. In addition to the underlying support of Huawei mobile phones, other mobile phones also need to install APP support at present. Some mobile phones will occasionally run APP unstable.M9 directly supports HWA transmission, and is also similar to the touch operation of mobile phones and can be installed with online music APP. It is an ideal HWA transmission platform.

After turning on the HWA switch, there is a HWA LOGO display on the upper part of the M9 interface, but this LOGO is still there after turning off the HWA.
M9 can control the volume, HWA transmission cannot control the volume, and intelligently increase the volume R2R2000. The sound quality of ordinary Bluetooth format is very different from that of HWA. There have been many evaluations before. Simply put, one is flat and dry sound, and the other is three-dimensional, vivid and real sound. It can be easily distinguished on BTR3, not to mention a player at the level of Prince.
summary: Feiao M9 has a different tuning style among domestic players. On the basis of certain analytical power and low-frequency dynamics, the sound processing is relatively soft, similar to some high-end Japanese and Korean players. It is suitable for matching earplugs with good analytical power, and has a certain "harmonic" effect on some earplugs with partial sound stimulation and music.
M9 has also done a good job in operability and portability other than sound. It has rich functions and is suitable for a variety of application scenarios, especially the support for HWA transmission function is commendable.
Feiao officially calls M9 "bucket machine", which means there is no obvious short board, and it is still worthy of the name from the actual experience.
