Feiao X5III(X5 3rd Generation)
Feiao X5III is a very interesting product. At the time of release, various "black technologies" (including dual AK4490 decoding, balanced output, mobile phone TF Cato, fast charging system, etc.) from appearance to integration caused quite a stir, but after the launch, there was a lot of controversy, including exaggerated statements about some so-called shortcomings, etc. Here is a comment on Feiao X5III, hoping to present the true face of X5III to everyone through this article. 1. Appearance and Operability X5III is a huge leap compared with the previous two generations of products. The details of various parts in the process are also quite well handled. The deficiency is that the diamond-shaped edge on the side is a bit like AK380, which can be made more concise. X5III uses Android operating system, similar to X7, with an additional "pure tone mode". The X5III touch operation response is quite fast, and the overall response is better than ZX1 and cayin i5. External physical keys, including volume wheel, play/pause, forward and backward, are all concentrated on the left side of the fuselage, and one-handed control is more convenient. The power button and TF card slot are on the right side of the fuselage. The X5III uses a mobile phone-style hidden TF Cato, which is indeed better than the ordinary open card slot in appearance and dustproof, but replacing the TF card requires pins, which is a bit troublesome. X5III with fast charging system is greatly improved, and it is really convenient to fully charge for one and a half hours. comparison of the startup time of the three Android players (calculated from pressing the power button to displaying the complete interface):cayin i5:35 seconds, feiao X5III:37 seconds, ZX1:29 seconds 2. sound performance: audition headphones: Philips X2, earplugs: Baia XELENTO (Xielantu), black oriole Comparison player: X5II and cayin i5, with ZX1 X5III is not strong. cayin i5 >X5II>X5III in high-frequency details. in fact, X5II high-frequency has been softened to a certain extent, and X5III is more flexible. the reduction, body feeling and positioning of instrumental music are slightly worse than X5II, but the high-frequency performance of X5III is far from "paste. intermediate frequency vocals X5III is also soft, with some polishing in details. The vocals are lower than X5II and cayin i5, and the separation between vocals and background instrumental music is also worse. Seeing "polishing details", it is estimated that some people will remember this is the comment I often use on AK players. The medium and high frequency of X5III is indeed a bit similar to AK240, rather than the warm and cordial feeling similar to HIFIMAN. X5III is relatively "fierce", with a large sense of quantity, deep dive, not very strong control, and a strong sense of low frequency atmosphere. Low frequency control will like this sound. The low frequencies of X5II and I5 are relatively crisp. In view of the characteristics of X5III sound, we also specially compared ZX1 and X5III. Since the thrust of ZX1 is too small, we use Baia XELENTO earplugs. the gap between the two players can be recognized in one ear, it is not a level thing at all. Even XELENTO earplugs with relatively comprehensive performance like this will feel stuffy in ZX1, and the sound cannot be opened completely. The gap between medium and high frequency details, low frequency dynamics, separation degree of instrumental music and human voice, etc. and X5III is very large. summary:X5III sound is a style that emphasizes medium and low frequency as a whole. This style is obviously different from other products of Feiao (Feiao X7 with balanced ear module already has a high level of detail restoration). X5III, as a mid-range product with a price of 2,000, obviously takes into account factors such as earplug matching and young people's listening preferences, and is more similar to the style of some high-priced products in Japan and South Korea. 3. clarified several exaggerated issues of X5III: 1. Bottom noise problem: X5III bottom noise was a problem that some people focused on at the beginning, but in factMeasured bottom noise value of Feiao X5III single port:-107db(32 ohms load), which is the same as ZX1 test data!this data is normal in portable players. As long as it doesn't match those earplugs with extremely high sensitivity, it will be fine. Actual audition: Push K3003i can only hear slight bottom noise in a quiet environment, which is similar to ZX1. In the black oriole, Feiao X5III basically can't hear the noise, ZX1 has a little noise. X5III is larger than that of a single port. The measured data is-102db. The bottom noise of the balance port of the black oriole can be heard. X5III is recommended not to match earplugs with high sensitivity (especially the balance mouth). some people have been clamoring that test data is useless, test data is actually the best tool that can be used to hit the face and stop some misleading propaganda. 2. X5III cut song "pop sound" problem: X5III does have a certain noise when starting the playback software, shutting down and switching some songs, but it is not the so-called "pop sound" at all. The word "pop sound" should be literally understood as the sound that broke out. In fact, those of X5III can only be said to be noise, one is because the noise volume is not high, and the other is not sharp. In addition, there is not noise every time when songs are switched. Some songs of the same album cannot hear noise when switching, and some tracks have different noise sizes, so this problem has little effect on listening. However, I still hope that Feiao can make further improvements in the firmware. 3 and X5III are said to be "no high frequency" in sound. This problem refers to the above sound evaluation. The so-called "no comparison" is not harmful. There are models such as ZX1/ZX2 with serious lack of high frequency details and poor separation. X5III can really laugh without saying a word. --------------------------- 's overall evaluation of Feiao X5III: Feiao X5III can be defined as a breakthrough product, which integrates double decoding, balanced output, mobile phone Cato, fast charging and other configurations at a 2500 price, and has high color value and good operability. But X5III is not a complete product. The main disadvantages include large noise at the bottom of the balance mouth, and noise in cutting songs. In fact, I expect Feiao X5III to make a "simplified version". Using a single DAC can remove the balanced output and reduce the output power to about 100 milliwatts/32. The above measures should greatly reduce the bottom noise and solve the problem of cutting song noise. That is a relatively "perfect" product. ------------------------------ Test data: based onAudioPrecision APX515professional audio analyzer,1KHZThe test file is16bit/48khz, standard load32Europe,THD Ntest data and signal-to-noise ratio areA.
