13. How to use desktop mode and ESP?
Desktop Mode (D.MODE) switch function
When the switch is set to ON, the Desktop Mode is enabled, and the device is powered by the USB directly without consuming battery power.
When the switch is set to OFF, the Desktop Mode is disabled, and the battery can both supply power and be charged normally.
--The battery will be charged when the device is connected with a power cable regardless of the status of the D.MODE switch.
ESP
Electronic Shock Protection (ESP) is a handy feature that ensures that your MP3-CD player will play music without skipping a beat even if it is shaken or bumped during movement. Devices with ESP have an intelligent electronic buffer that can store different digital music formats such as MP3 and WMA. The buffer automatically adjusts its contents and the laser pickup speed to ensure that you enjoy the music smoothly. The DM13 has an ESP function that users can choose to turn on or off by themselves.Audiophiles who care about sound quality are recommended to turn ESP off; ESP is only suitable for moving scenes
ESP compression time after ESP pre-reading: normal CD disks ESP will have 60 seconds pre-reading, MP3 format disks will have 120 seconds pre-reading.
