Two decades of acoustic craftsmanship, distilled into the compact M25. Comfortably held in one hand, yet powered by a flagship-grade acoustic core. A segmented design uses 31 thermometer-coded resistors to decode the upper 5 bits, helping address the error accumulation of conventional R2R designs and reduce distortion. The result preserves the signature analog character of R2R while bringing greater detail, resolution, dynamics, and a more expansive soundstage.

Engineered to desktop-class standards, the M25 features a fully differential audio architecture that maintains four independent signal paths from decoding and volume control through to the headphone amplifier output. With one AK4499EX dedicated to each channel, the M25 reduces common-mode interference while achieving better separation and dynamics. An architecture with fully separated digital/analog circuitry works together with AKM’s DWA Routing Technology to create a cleaner background and bring out greater resolution, accuracy, and fine detail. Paired with a carefully selected op-amp stage, the result is warm and refined, yet rich in detail.
