How to connect a mobile device when using the AIR AMP as a USB DAC?

【Android Phone】

1. AIR AMP input settings: After powering on, rotate the menu knob on the main interface to switch to USB mode, then short-press to confirm.

2. AIR AMP output settings: On the main interface, short-press the menu knob to enter the "OUT xxx" settings screen, short-press again to make the characters after "OUT" flash, then rotate the knob to select:

• P+P: SPEAKER OUT and PRE OUT output simultaneously

• SPK: Only SPEAKER OUT outputs

• PRE: Only PRE OUT outputs

3. Connect the phone to the front or side USB IN port via an OTG cable.

【Note】 If no sound:

1. Check the phone's playback software settings. Some devices need USB output enabled, others need it disabled.

2. Enable USB debugging in the phone's developer options.

3. Confirm the OTG cable supports OTG and is connected correctly.

4. USB audio standards vary across phone brands; FiiO does not guarantee full compatibility. If it doesn't work, try another phone or a computer. If it still doesn't work with a computer, consider repair or replacement.

【Apple Phone/iPad】

Use an OTG-compatible cable to connect the AIR AMP to your iPhone/iPad/iPod, then play music to enjoy high-quality audio.

【Note】

1. When decoding with iOS devices, adjusting the volume on the iOS device has no effect. You need to adjust the volume on the AIR AMP.

How do I connect the AIR AMP to a computer for use as a USB DAC?

【Windows PC】

1. Install the FiiO universal DAC driver on your computer: Click here. Note: This driver version is only compatible with Windows 10 and Windows 11; it is not applicable to Windows 7 or Windows 8.

2. AIR AMP input settings: After powering on, rotate the menu knob on the main interface to switch to USB mode, then short-press the knob to confirm.

3. AIR AMP output settings: Switch to the corresponding output according to the interface being used. The system defaults to all outputs being enabled and outputting simultaneously. To switch, short-press the menu knob on the main interface to go to the "OUT xxx" settings screen, short-press the knob again (the characters after "OUT" will flash), then rotate the knob to select the desired output mode:

• P+P: SPEAKER OUT and PRE OUT output simultaneously

• SPK: Only SPEAKER OUT outputs

• PRE: Only PRE OUT outputs

4. Connect the computer to either the front or rear USB IN port on the AIR AMP via a USB cable, then set the audio output of your playback software to AIR AMP.

【Mac】

No driver installation is required for Mac computers. Simply select AIR AMP as the audio output device in system settings. It is recommended to set the system volume to maximum and adjust the output volume using the AIR AMP's volume knob.

Linux systems are driver-free. In theory, it should work by simply connecting the device. However, due to the wide variety of Linux distributions, full compatibility with all systems cannot be guaranteed. If the device is not recognized, try using a different USB cable or port. If it still does not work, it is likely not supported.

Does the AIR AMP support driver-free operation?

Yes. In the AIR AMP system settings menu, switch to UAC 1 to enter driver-free mode, which allows decoding for devices such as PS5 and Switch.
