(1) How about the decoding ability of the Q7?
USB decoding mode: up to 768k/32bit, DSD512
Coaxial decoding mode: up to 192k/24bit, DSD64
Optical decoding mode: up to 96k/24bit
Bluetooth receiving mode: supports LDAC/aptX HD/aptX Adaptive/aptX LL//aptX/AAC/SBC
(2) Is the LO output really a LO, or does it output directly from headphones?
The audio architecture of the Q7 is similar to that of the M17. For FiiO's other music players, even though their PO and LO share the same connector, they handle signals after the DAC filter, so it is not directly transferred out by PO.
Since the output power of the Q7 is relatively high, in order to avoid sudden volume changes caused by misoperation, we default the LO output to adjustable amplitude. It can also be set to fixed output in the menu.
(3) Does it support calls in Bluetooth mode?
The Q7 does not have a microphone. It only supports audio connection in Bluetooth mode and does not support calls. So you need to use a mobile phone with a microphone to answer the call. Because the Q7 is relatively large, it is not as easy to be attached to the collar with a clip as the BTR series, so the call function experience will not be so good.
(4) When playing MQA tracks, what do the OFS, a dot, etc. displayed in the Q7 mean?
MQA has three formats. When the Q7 is decoding, the following three formats will be displayed as follows - MQA (with green dots or without dots), MQA (blue dots) or MQA Studio/MQA OFS. They respectively represent MQA Authentic, MQA Studio, and MQA Core.
(5) Is it easy to break the knob for such frequent uses?
We choose an integrated composite encoder to realize the function of encoder + button. The intuitive advantage of full leakproofness is that it has excellent dust-proof and moisture-proof performance. And the entire encoder adopts a metal cover and a metal handle, which also ensures high accuracy with less abrasion. The measured life in our sampling inspection has reached more than 50,000 times, far exceeding the 30,000 times specified in the specification.
In terms of structural fixation, it relies on the all-aluminum alloy body of the Q7 for support, and the encoder is tightly locked in the CNC machined cavity through a nut. The high-precision fit ensures that the encoder will not have any offset during normal operation or if the device is accidentally dropped.
(6) How to use the in-vehicle mode?
We did not add the car mode to the Q7 for the time being. If you need it, you can give feedback to our customer service. We will consider whether to make it or not.
(7) Why is there no analog input?
We have done research and found that few users would use a pure amp. So we did not add the analog input port. But the Q7 was designed with multiple inputs to better work as a DAC/Amp.
(8) Can the adapter stay plugged into the device? Will it affect the battery life?
Yes, it can. To take advantage of the DC desktop device and protect the battery during long-term operation in DC desktop mode, the battery of the Q7 will not be charged in DC mode, and it will not consume the power of the battery at this time. If you really need to use a DC power supply to charge the battery, please switch to the BAT level.
In desktop mode, DC level, the battery is "isolated", so we don't have to worry about damaging the battery.
(9) Can the Q7 be connected to a USB flash disk?
The Q7 is a DAC/Amp, so it cannot read a USB flash disk.
(10) Why doesn't the Q7 support in-line control?
We have considered the product positioning of the Q7 that it is inappropriate to add the in-line control and microphone because of the hardware limit.
